The Ghent University, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, will host the 13th Biennial CIGAR (Comparative international governmental accounting research) Conference on June 9-10, 2011 and the preceding PhD Seminar on June 8, 2011.
The 13th Biennial CIGAR Conference highlights public sector accounting research and encourages related research in non-profit sector accounting. Privately organized non-profit institutions, such as hospitals, schools, universities, museums, health care institutions, charities, funds and the like, share many characteristics with public governments. During this CIGAR Conference, the importance of the non-profit sector as a valuable player to the public sector will be emphasized by accepting and encouraging comparative research contributions on this matter.
Academics and practitioners are invited to submit papers for presentation at the conference. For further information on the event and to apply online, please see the conference's website. The deadline is January 31, 2011.
