The Local Governance Program in Albania (LGPA) is assisting the National Territorial Planning Agency (NTPA) to draft portions of the secondary legislation for the National Territory Planning Law, as set forth in Law No. 10119, dated 23.04.2009, "On Territorial Planning."

With the assistance of LGPA and its technical consultant, Co-PLAN, a series of consultation meetings will be organized by NTPA with key stakeholders at the central and local government levels to address issues of concern.

The first consultation meeting was held on 10 September 2010, with other meetings to follow as indicated below:

• 22 September, 2nd Central level meeting (for representatives of national ministries and agencies, and of relevant non-governmental organizations)

• 29/30 September, 1st Local level meeting (for local representatives from the North Region which includes all local government units of the Qarks of Shkodra, Lezha, Kukes and Diber)

• 6/7 October, 2nd Local level meeting (for local representatives from the Central Region which includes all local government units of the Qarks of Tirana, Durres, Elbasan and Fier)

• 13/14 October, 3rd Local level meeting (for local representatives from the South Region which includes all local government units of the Qarks of Vlora, Gjirokastra, Berat and Korça)

• 4 November, 3rd Central level meeting

• 18 November, 4th Central level meeting.

All meetings will be held in Tirana.
